General Description

  • Design, construction and completion of 700m of dual five-lane vehicular tunnel structure, of which approximately 420m is below the Marina Bay Crossing. The dual five-lane, 5km-long Marina Coastal Expressway (MCE) in Singapore is a key element of the strategic island-wide road network to support the long-term growth of Singapore.

Technical Information

  • The undersea bed crossing twin cell tunnel is made up of cast in situ base slab from 2300mm to 2600mm thick, wall thickness from 1200mm to 2000mm, height from 5500mm to 7000mm and roof slab thickness from 2100mm to 2500mm, with roof slab cast in situ structure constructed through K-Lock falsework support system. All casting elements are carried out using system steel metal formwork.
